Audi Rental in Athens

Athens does not ease you out. The city releases you all at once — the weight of the Acropolis still in your peripheral vision as the throttle opens and the coastline of the Attic Riviera unfolds ahead. National Road 91 toward Cape Sounion is not a scenic detour; it is a reckoning. The Aegean holds a particular quality of light in the late morning, a hard, mineral brightness that makes every corner feel deliberately framed. Pull over at the Temple of Poseidon if you must, but the road itself is the monument. Before you leave, the Hotel Grande Bretagne demands at least one slow evening — its neoclassical facades overlooking Syntagma hold a century of diplomatic intrigue and old European ceremony. Breakfast there has the quality of a formal occasion even if you are the only guest. Athens rewards drivers who understand that the city is not the destination. It is the prologue. The real conversation begins the moment the urban density thins, the road narrows to two lanes along the coast, and the car finds its register. Everything before that moment was simply preparation.
