<p>Some cars announce themselves through sound. This one does it through colour first. Finished in a custom Tiffany hue over black wheels and blue M Sport calipers, this Z4 draws a crowd in a hotel valet line before the engine's even turned over, then backs the entrance up with the six-cylinder underneath.</p>

<p>A 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six sends 382 hp through an eight-speed automatic, 100 km/h arriving in around 4.5 seconds with the electronically controlled rear differential keeping the power planted out of tighter corners. M Sport suspension and beefed-up brakes come standard on this trim, a genuine step up in composure from the four-cylinder Z4 in the rest of the fleet, sharper turn-in and a chassis that stays flat when the pace picks up.</p>

<p>The soft-top drops in about ten seconds, low-slung two-seat cabin putting you close to the road and closer still to the exhaust note on the overrun.
