In Estepona, Zeus Prestige delivers your luxury car rental to your hotel, your villa, the marina or Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP). Choose between a sports car, a cabriolet and a luxury SUV, then take the western Costa del Sol at leisure. Exotic car hire in Estepona starts on the seafront and reaches the Sierra Bermeja within the hour.
Estepona has been a coastal town for a very long time. The Romans settled here until a seaquake destroyed their town in the 4th century, and in 1342 a naval battle between the fleets of Aragon and the Marinids was fought in the bay. Henry IV of Castile took the town from the Moors in 1457, and the 15th-century Castillo de San Luis still stands in the old quarter. For centuries Estepona answered to Marbella, until Philip V gave it a charter of its own in 1729.
Today the old town is a place to slow down. Most of its streets are closed to traffic, each one painted in its own colour, and more than 40 murals decorate the building facades. The clock tower rises beside the Church of Santa María de los Remedios, which was built over the former mosque. Down at the port, fishing boats still sell the daily catch at auction, and a street market fills the quay on Sundays. La Rada, the main beach, runs for more than two and a half kilometres, and sunshine totals between 2,800 and 3,000 hours over twelve months.
Drop the roof for this climb inland. Casares shares a border with Estepona, and the road rises quickly from the coastal plain into the hills, where the air cools and smells of warm stone and dry herbs. The houses of the old town cling to the cliff beneath a castle the Moors founded in the 12th century. Blas Infante, remembered as the father of Andalusian nationalism, was born here in 1885. Take a coffee on the terrace, look back at the sea far below, then enjoy the easy curves all the way down in an open-top car.
Hand this one to something low and quick, whether sports car or supercar. The road leaves Estepona and climbs into the Sierra Bermeja, whose highest peak, Los Reales, reaches 1,449 metres. Bend follows bend through the pinsapo forests, and by the third hairpin your palms are damp on the wheel. Genalguacil sits some 34 kilometres from the coast at about 500 metres above sea level, in the Genal valley. Every two years artists gather here for a week, and what they make stays in the streets, from wall paintings to carved tree trunks. Walk the lanes, then let the engine call you back to the car.
This long day west along the coast suits a grand tourer, or an SUV with room for luggage. Sotogrande was founded in 1964, and its marina dates from 1988. The community now holds five golf courses, among them the Valderrama Golf Club, and the coast road carries you past it all with the sea on one side. Inside the cabin the leather is soft, the engine is a distant murmur and the miles slip by. Break for lunch by the marina, then return along the same coast as the evening light settles.
Yes. We deliver to hotels, villas and the marina in Estepona, and to Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP), including its private aviation terminal (ICAO LEMG). Estepona has no airport of its own, and Málaga lies around 80 kilometres to the east. Share your landing time and a car will meet you there.
A convertible fits the seafront and the climb to Casares, the Sierra Bermeja rewards something quicker, and the long run west to Sotogrande is easy in a grand tourer or an SUV.
Most of the old town streets are closed to traffic. The meeting point is confirmed at the time of booking.
Estepona has a Mediterranean climate, with an average annual temperature above 19 degrees. Spring and autumn are comfortable for a convertible, while summer afternoons can pass 35 degrees, so mornings and evenings are the pleasant hours on the road.
Marbella lies along the coast to the east, and Puerto Banús is about 30 minutes by car from Estepona's port. Both are easy day trips with the car you have already collected.
Yes. Marbella and Málaga run east along the coast, the white villages of the Genal valley lie inland, and Cádiz province begins to the west. Seville and Córdoba make longer trips for those staying a week or more.
