McLaren cut 80 kilos from the 720S and kept every one of the 755 horses. Nothing soft. Nothing extra. Nothing to hide behind.
The Stelvio Pass doesn't forgive hesitation. Forty-eight hairpins stacked into the Italian Alps, tarmac chewed by frost and truck tires, drop-offs with no guardrail to speak of. This is where the 765LT was built to live.
Weight and Power
McLaren cut 80 kilos from an already lean 720S. Carbon fiber replaces steel wherever steel wasn't earning its weight. The rear window is polycarbonate. Carpet is gone. Sound deadening is gone. What's left: a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, 755 PS, torque delivered like a verdict, not a suggestion.
Zero to 100 km/h takes 2.7 seconds. Top speed clears 330 km/h, though on a road like this that number stays academic — the pass never straightens out long enough to find it. What matters is the corner. Longtail aero, a deeper front splitter, that fixed rear wing, all cut to keep the nose planted through switchbacks nobody else trusts at speed.
Interior
Inside: two fixed-back carbon seats, exposed weave on the dash, a start button and not much else asking for attention. McLaren didn't soften this car for the road. They built the road car around the racetrack and left it that way.
