Affalterbach built its name on one rule: one engineer, one engine, start to finish, signature on the block. The GT Roadster carries that promise under a hood long enough to house a small orchestra pit.
Pop the top. Drop into two seats wrapped tight around you. Thumb the start button and the 4.0-litre V8 Biturbo cracks awake, idling with a low, chesty growl that rattles windows two spaces over. The 7-speed dual-clutch snaps through gears like it's got somewhere to be. Stretch the throttle and the car stretches with it — hood rising ahead of you like the prow of something built to hunt, wind peeling back over the windshield, that V8 climbing into a register that turns heads a block away.
The buttoned-up coupe stays home for this one. The Roadster wants an audience: sun on the roll bars, exhaust bouncing off canyon walls, top stowed and gone, brawny elegance with the lid off.
Automatic gearbox, petrol-fed, muscle from bumper to bumper, but polished enough that valets still stand a little straighter when it rolls up. Affalterbach's rule holds here too. This one just does it with better tan lines.
