




More downforce than a 911 GT3 nearly triples over, an active front wing that moves like an F1 car's, and a naturally aspirated flat-six that answers to none of it
Porsche didn't chase a bigger number with the 992 GT3 RS. The naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six makes 518 horsepower, only a modest step past the standard GT3, because this car's real engineering budget went somewhere else entirely: more than 1,500 simulations and 250 hours in the wind tunnel, aimed almost purely at downforce.
It shows everywhere on the body. A fully active front wing can rotate up to 80 degrees on its own, a swan-neck rear wing rises clear of the roofline, and a Drag Reduction System, borrowed straight from Formula 1 logic, opens elements to cut resistance the instant maximum speed matters more than grip. The result is downforce that dwarfs the standard GT3's, all of it tuned to load the tyres exactly where a driver needs it through a fast corner.
Inside, everything left is there to inform, not insulate. Road texture, tyre roar, the flat-six climbing hard toward its 9,000 rpm redline: none of it gets softened. Rear-axle steering sharpens direction changes at low speed and stabilizes the car at high speed, and the PDK gearbox fires through ratios with the kind of immediacy only a car built by people obsessed with lap times can manage. This is Porsche's most single-minded road-legal 911, engineered first for confidence at the limit and everything else second.
